450 x 640 mm
Edition of 55
2025
~
“The purpose of my film seems modest enough: to make people think about dreams again. Modern civilization has no use for dreams and has thrown them out on the trash-heap of our psyches. After all, the last important scientific work
devoted to dreams, Freud’s The Interpretation of Dreams, was written nearly a hundred years ago!”
-From the Director’s written introduction.
Produced for a screening of the Soviet-era Czech surrealist stop-motion animated classic, at the Savoy Cinema, Nottingham. As a fan of Švankmajer’s work since I was a teenager, this was a real joy to work on.
